Living Alternatives
seeking to meet the extended needs of unwed mothers, added Loving
Alternative to provide a Christian adoption experience for the pregnant
mother and her unborn child. Living Alternatives was licensed by
the State of Texas to operate the Loving Alternative Adoption Agency
in 1987.
Loving Alternative
practices "covenant adoption". A process in which the
adoptive couple, the birth family and the agency enter into the
adoption process together, creating a plan based on love, trust
and promise to keep the highest interest of the child in mind throughout
the growing up years. This involves a face to face meeting before
the delivery of the child and at placement, contact between the
families is maintained through letters, pictures and gifts that
are monitored by the agency. This process and the Biblical principles
it was based upon will be shared at the orientation time for adoption
with Loving Alternative.
Loving Alternative
was developed to assist women who choose to make an adoptive plan
as their living alternative to abortion. Loving Alternative does
not actively pursue pregnant, adoption minded women and therefore
we only make 3 to 10 placements a year. But do not allow our limited
numbers to prevent you from pursuing your child through our ministry.
We do not have a waiting list because the birth mothers choose their
families from among our applicants. Our adoption fee is a sliding
scale based on income, which include all expenses, medical, legal,
home-study, pre and post adoption services to both the adoptive
couple and the biological family, which may or may not include maternity
home services to the birth mother. |
